Song of Solomon 4: 9 “You have captured my heart, my sister, my bride;
You have made my heart beat faster with a single glance of your eyes,
With a single strand of your necklace.

The subject of the poem, the Shulamite woman of Solomon’s song did not need to do anything else to get His attention. She had already captured His heart, He spoke in the past tense.

So, it is with us, God’s creation; we already have His attention. We are His pearl of great price. He already gave Everything for us.

Matthew 13:45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, 46 and upon finding one pearl of immense value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

In a dream the instructor of a class told me that I would be given a secret reward, that no one else was to see. I opened a suitcase and in it there was a brassiere crusted in diamonds and pearls. If this was to be a secret and the gift so private, why do I share it with you? The intimate garment represents something He desires from all of us.

Psalm 45: 10 Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father’s house; 11 Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him. 12 The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor.13 The King’s daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold.14 She will be led to the King in embroidered work; The virgins, her companions who follow her, will be brought to You.

You have a beauty, even the men among my readers, which is meant to be seen in private by God alone; like a husband who is the only one who can see the undergarments of his wife.

The secret place of your heart is desired by your King.

This day, the third Sunday in June, we celebrate Father’s Day.

Revelation 4: 9  “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and with Your blood purchased men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

You were God’s Father’s Day Present.
